Need

Community sport is spread across too many places. Photos end up on social media, team updates disappear into group chats, fixtures live somewhere else, and club websites are often little more than noticeboards. Players, parents, coaches and supporters are part of the same community, but the tools they use rarely connect them.

SportsCircle was created to bring that community together. A place built around the people, teams and clubs someone actually follows, rather than an algorithm deciding what appears in their feed.

Approach

We designed and built SportsCircle as a dedicated social network for community sport. People, teams and clubs all have profiles within the same network. Players can follow teammates and clubs, clubs can publish official updates, and teams can share fixtures, events and registrations directly with the people around them.

The feed is deliberately simple. You see content from the people, teams and clubs you choose to follow. There are no recommended strangers competing for attention, and posts do not become public comment threads.

Fixtures, events, registrations and club updates sit alongside the everyday moments that make up a season, from match-day photos to team milestones.

Outcomes

SportsCircle gives community sport its own place online. Players, families and supporters can follow a season without piecing it together across social media, group chats, websites and email.

For clubs and teams, it creates a direct connection with their community. Updates, fixtures, registrations and events can all be shared through an official presence in the same network their members already use.

SportsCircle is currently in early access and free to join at sportscircle.com.au.
